Main characters:

Greg Heffley:

Gregory "Greg" Heffley is the main protagonist of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. He is best friends with Rowley Jefferson and he is known for his misadventures throughout his school.

In the first film, Greg is easygoing and good-natured. He is just trying to survive middle school, failing to realize that he is a bit too selfish, and once got beaten down by Patty Farrell because he insulted her.

In the sequel, Greg is going into seventh grade and he develops a crush on Holly Hills, who just moved in, but fails to get her to notice him as she mistook him for Fregley, but they both learn they kind of like each other. Greg and Rodrick also compete against each other for "Mom Bucks", a money donation made by Susan, Greg's mom, that rewards him and Rodrick for spending time together, and they can trade in for real cash. However, they see it as a way to get rich. In the film series, Greg is portrayed by Zachary Gordon

He is 11 in Diary of a Wimpy Kid, 12 in Rodrick Rules and The Last Straw, starts at 12 and turns 13 in Dog Days, and remains 13 in The Ugly Truth and Cabin Fever.

Rowley Jefferson:

Rowley Jefferson is Greg's best friend, although Greg views him as immature and ignorant. Rowley gets a note that says he's cute because of his pimple from all the girls,but Greg is jealous of his pimple so he writes a fake letter to him. In Dog Days, they separate, and Greg knows that he and Rowley will no longer be friends, but they got back together in the end of The Ugly Truth. At the end of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Rowley eats "The cheese," a secret that only Greg and a small group of teenagers know.

Rowley has what Greg considers strange interests for his age and gender, such as liking a singer for "six-year-old girls" named "Joshie", and the DinoBlazer action figures he receives as a birthday present, which are supposed to be toys for young boys aged 7, which show that Rowley has not really grown up. Rowley appears in the fifth book, but his friendship with Greg deteriorates. Eventually, they make up. Like Greg, he dislikes Fregley. Rowley also is the owner of the comic strip Zoo Wee Mama, which was originally Greg's idea, and they both worked on it. However, Greg gives up to start his own comic strip, and hands Zoo Wee Mama to Rowley, and it becomes a success. After, that however, Rowley claims that Greg had nothing to do with the comic strip.

In the movie series, Rowley is portrayed by Robert Capron.

He starts at age 11 in Diary of a Wimpy Kid, remanins 11 in Rodrick Rules, turns 12 in The Last Straw and starts 12 and turns 13 Dog Days, remains at 13 in The Ugly Truth, and remains 13 in Cabin Fever.

Susan Heffley:

Susan" Heffley is Greg's mother. Susan is trying to be a good mother, but is shown as impulsive, ignorant, and somewhat over-protective, much to Greg's annoyance. She and her husband pay far more attention to Manny than their other two sons, and give their youngest nearly everything he wants. Susan humiliates Rodrick on stage during the school talent show in Rodrick Rules, when she performs an embarrassing dance on stage during Rodrick's band's heavy metal performance. In Dog Days She Is The Main Antagonist. In the film series, she is portrayed by Rachael Harris.

Frank Heffley:

Frank" Heffley is Greg's father. He is interested in U.S. history, especially the American Civil War, and he even made a replica of an American Civil War battle field. Frank is edgy around Rowley, does not appreciate Greg's skill at video games, loathes heavy metal, and strongly detests adolescents. He once threatened to send Greg to the Spag Union Military Academy. In The Last Straw, Frank is the main antagonist, as he is trying to toughen Greg up and threatening to send him to military school if he does not "shape up." Frank is also a junk-food addict and sometimes steals Greg's lunch snacks on which Greg depends to make it through the day. However, Greg and Frank grow together in Dog Days after Frank rethinks sending Greg to Spag Union in the end of The Last Straw, but more significantly, over their mutual dislike of the comic strip 'Lil Cutie'. Frank is portrayed by Steve Zahn in the film series

Rodrick Heffley:

Rodrick Heffley is Greg's older brother and is often mean to Greg. He has a heavy metal band called Löded Diper, but it is not a very successful one.

In Rodrick Rules, he is the main antagonist and constantly bullies Greg, threatening to spill Greg's "big secret". Rodrick enjoys sleeping, which is shown when his parents forget to wake him up. Consequently, he sleeps for thirty-six hours straight, not knowing he skipped a day of his life until the night of the day he woke up Rodrick also drives a van with his band's name, "Löded Diper" in giant letters.

In the movie series, Rodrick is voiced by Devon Bostick. Susan asks Rodrick to give Greg advice about middle school to which he tells Greg not to sit or go anywhere, talk or look at anyone, raise his hand, get noticed, go to the bathroom, or choose the wrong locker. He also admonished Greg that he had be dead or homeschooled by end of the year and not to be seen with Rowley. Also, Rodrick also called Rowley childish names on several occasions. These names includes Turd Burglar, Chummybuttons, Tool, Baby Hippo, and Chunky Cheese. And he got grounded for what his mother considered a pornographic magazine.

In the second movie, Bostick reprised his role as Rodrick. Also, you see that he cares about his band very much, and becomes closer to Greg. After having a party behind his parents back and being found out, they forbid him from playing in the local talent show. Rodrick is devastated, and blames Greg. Greg and Rodrick are sent to stay with their grandpa in a senior home with Rodrick constantly tormenting Greg. At the Talent show, The new band member, Bill, claims they will play anyway, even though Rodrick started the band. When Greg sees how much this hurts his brother, he agrees to be Rowley's assistant even though "it's embarrassing" and the girl he's crushing on is in the audience, if Rodrick can play. The show is a hit, the brothers make up, and Rodrick kicks Bill out of the band in the end. However, Greg and Rodrick return to their picking on each other, but this time it's more playful and you can see that they mean a lot to each other.

He starts at age 15 and turns 16 in Diary of a Wimpy Kid, starts at 16 and turns 17 in Rodrick Rules, remains 17 in The Last Straw and Dog Days, starts at 17 and turns 18 in The Ugly Truth, and remains 18 in Cabin Fever.

Manny Heffley:

Manny" Heffley is Greg's younger brother, and is far more spoiled than Greg and Rodrick combined, mostly because he throws extreme tantrums to get whatever he wants.

Manny has told on Greg for things he saw before talking age, such as breaking a sliding glass window, which had occurred two years before. Manny has cried in all the books except The Ugly Truth. In Diary Of A Wimpy Kid, he cries because Greg pretends that he's making Manny eat a spider (a piece of string). Manny accidentally eats the string and cries because of it. In Rodrick Rules, Greg makes a funny face to Manny, when their mom says, "You could have killed him!" Then Manny cries when she puts that thought in his head. In The Last Straw, he cries when Greg calls him a "ploopy". In Dog Days, Manny cries on a family trip when Rodrick tells Manny that the hump seat Manny is sitting on is the least comfortable. He once crawled into Rowley's sleeping bag at one of Greg's sleepovers. In Rodrick Rules, he puts a cookie in Greg's game slot causing the entire console to break. He apologizes to Greg by giving a ball of tinfoil with toothpicks sticking out of it.

Greg's classmates:

Fregley:

Fregley is an awkward, hyperactive and gross classmate of Greg's. In Dog Days, it is revealed that he is sent home once every month for improper hygiene. Every day, as Greg walks up to Rowley's house, Fregley tries to talk Greg into topics such as his "secret freckle" or how his scab smells. Fregley never leaves his front yard during the summer, which Greg believes is because Fregley's parents had installed an electric fence around the yard. In the books, Fregley seems like a key character,but only appears several times in each book with the exception of Rodrick Rules in which he isn't even mentioned at all. In the movies, he is played by Tjaden Nyman

Chirag Gupta:

Chirag Gupta is one of Greg's classmates. He is the shortest person in Greg's classes, but he has a strong punch. People often take advantage of his small size with pranks, such as the Invisible Chirag joke, wherein Greg and Chirag's other classmates ignore him, pretending that he is still gone after he moves back from California after a couple of months away. Also, another prank was when Greg and his friends started speaking softly whenever Chirag was near, making it seem he was deaf, but he put a stop to it quickly.  Greg and Chirag are friends as shown in Rodrick Rules when Greg states "Before you say I am a bad friend for teasing Chirag, I am smaller than 95% of the kids at my school." However, is it shown that Greg and Chirag aren't close friends as Chirag only appears several times in each book, with the exception of Dog Days in which he isn't even mentioned at all. This also shows that Chirag is not really a key character.

In the film adaptation of the first novel, he is played by Karan Brar and tells Greg and Rowley about the story of the Cheese Touch, and seems to be builled by the other kids.

Holly Hills:

Holly Hills, the sister of Tjaden Nyman. Tjaden Nyman, is a girl Greg likes in The Last Straw. According to Greg, she is the fourth prettiest girl in his grade. At the end of The Last Straw, Greg gives up on trying to make Holly his girlfriend because she mistakes him for Fregley, which Greg takes as an insult. Also, she tells Greg that he's OK, but doesn't really know him too well, but due to an even nicer note to Rowley, he gives up trying to impress her again, as well as forges a reply from Rowley turning her down. She appears in the script Greg makes for a skit for the talent show called The Boy Whose Family Thinks He's a Dog in Rodrick Rules. She also appears once in Dog Days. It is revealed in The Last Straw that Holly's middle name is Elizabeth. In the film adaptation of the sequel, things take a slightly different turn, and she ends up becoming a friend of Greg (and possible girlfriend).Her features are she has golden blonde hair and has hazel eyes and is around 5,2-5,3 in height. She is played by Peyton R. List.

Patty Farrell:

Patricia "Patty" Farrell is Greg's arch-nemesis in Diary of a Wimpy Kid. She is the one who plays 'Tjaden Nyman' in the school's production of The Wizard of Oz. Greg says that when he started throwing apples from his on stage tree at her, an apple hit Patty's lenses and she was unable to see more than two feet in front of her. In The Last Straw, Patty supervised the class when the teacher, Mrs. Craig was gone, and would not let Greg use the bathroom while she was supervising.

In the film adaptation of the novel, where she is played by Laine MacNeil, Patty goes against Greg in the wrestling match, she won and got it got printed on the front page of the School Newspaper along with a photo. The headline was 'A Great Day For Women' (In the movie). She was also Dorothy in the school play. Patty ruins the play by throwing a temper tantrum at Greg when he and the other cast members playing trees do not sing provoking Greg throwing apples at her. Patty also unknowingly catches the Cheese Touch from Rowley. She also really liked Rowley Jefferson, Greg's best friend and seemed to have beaten up Greg in kindergarten and the fourth grade for singing "Patty, Patty is a fatty, has a face just like a ratty," and making fun of her. She always reminds Greg that she can easily beat him up if he's mean to her, and always uses that as a threat.

Collin Lee:

Collin Lee is Greg's "back-up" friend. Despite that, Collin becomes Rowley's new best friend in Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Collin is not a key character in the book version of the series as he is only seen a couple of times in the first book and only mentioned one time after that at the end of Dog Days.

Alex Aruda:

Alexander "Alex" Aruda is one of the smartest people in Greg's school. According to Greg, he is smart because teachers in Greg's school call on students whose last names are first in alphabetical order, forcing those kids to become the smartest. Although he is intelligent, Alex is oblivious to what goes on around him; for example, in The Last Straw, Alex does not realize his class is being kept inside for recess until Greg tells him so. He also stole Mrs. Craig's dictionary to study for the spelling bee.

Albert Sandy:

Albert Sandy is a kid in Greg's school. He tells Greg and other classmates lies he hears about. Sometimes Greg tries doing the stuff he says, and it all fails.

Christopher Ziegel:

Christopher Ziegel appears in the second book Rodrick Rules, and a lot of people think that he is very bad at math.

Greg's teachers:

Mrs. Craig:

Mrs. Craig is one of Greg's teachers, yet exactly what she teaches is unknown. However, in The Last Straw, it is shown that Mrs. Craig was his teacher in that particular year. This shows that Mrs. Craig is a 7th grade teacher. In Diary of a Wimpy Kid she "catches" Rowley and Greg listening to a rock and roll CD, saying that it would damage their brains when there were no batteries inside the CD player. In The Last Straw, when the large dictionary that she keeps on her desk goes missing and she does not let the class go outside for recess, until the dictionary is returned, although it turns out that Alex Aruda was using it to study for the state spelling bee. Mrs. Craig catches Corey Lamb putting the dictionary back on her desk and accuses him for stealing it, even though it was actually Alex.

Mr. Roy:

Mr. Roy is Greg's vice-principal.

Mrs. Lee:

Mrs. Lee is Greg's Pre-Algebra teacher and a minor character in the series. According to Greg, she watches Greg She doesn't like Greg's class coming in the classroom all sweaty after Phys Ed. Greg's class has to take a shower, but they just put their heads in the water to pretend.She originally taught kindergarten.

Mr. Huff:

Mr. Huff is Greg's history teacher in his seventh grade year. In Rodrick Rules, he seats Greg next to his desk, which Greg believes is because Mr. Huff taught Rodrick earlier. In the second movie, he is named Mr. Draybick.

Nurse Powell:

Nurse Powell is Greg's school nurse and health teacher. She appeared in The Last Straw and The Ugly Truth.

Coach Underwood:

Mr. Underwood is Greg's gym teacher. He does not appear in the films, being replaced by Coach Malone.

Greg's relatives:

Gramma:

Gramma, as she is addressed, is Greg's maternal grandmother. Greg and his mother believe that she plays favorites for Manny, but she always denies the charge, saying, "I love my grandchildren all the same". In Dog Days it is revealed that she lost a dog named Henry. Later in the book, the Heffleys give their dog Sweetie to her.

Grandpa:

Greg's grandfather is an outgoing person, and he is shown to wear a tie (shown in The Ugly Truth). He tends to baby Greg in some ways such as, reading him bedtime stories and watching 30 minutes of television. Greg has said in his diary that his grandfather has not babysat them in years. In Dog Days, it is revealed over Father's Day brunch he ran over his son's dog Nutty when backing out of the drive way. He is a smoker and enjoys playing gin rummy.

Grandpa appears in the second film, Rodrick Rules.

Uncle Joe:

Frank (Frank Heffley A.K.A Dad) has a sibling rivalry with Uncle Joe. When Manny started potty training, Uncle Joe insisted that there was a "potty monster" that was about to get him, causing Manny to fear using the bathroom, so that meant Frank had to change his diapers for a longer time. Greg says that he could hear Frank cursing to Joe when he changed more diapers from Manny because of it. Also, Uncle Joe's children call their uncle "Aunt Fwank", which Frank swears he told them to do on purpose, but Susan thinks it's cute. In Dog Days, Greg mentions that he tried to make Uncle Joe convince Frank to get a dog, but that did not work out. He also mentions that his dog, Killer ate most of Greg's birthday cake.

Uncle Charlie:

Greg's uncle Charlie is described by Greg as a very wealthy man being able to get him anything he wants for Christmas or his birthday. Ironically, the few times throughout the series that Uncle Charlie brought Greg gifts, but he is only disappointed by what he brings. A few examples are a 8x10 picture of him, a "Laundry Hoop", and Wonder Woman Underoos. In Dog Days, it's said that he has a recliner which he practically lives in. Uncle Charlie looks a lot like Grandpa. Book 5 seems to imply that Uncle Charlie is not married (or at least divorced Aunt Loretta) as he is on the bachelor list at Uncle Gary's fourth wedding.

Aunt Loretta:

Greg's aunt. Not much is known about her, but some say that she got divorced by Uncle Charlie. Mainly appearing in Rodrick Rules at the Thanksgiving dinner, she also appeared a couple times in Do It Yourself Book. She looks more elderly than Gramma. She appeared a couple of times in The Ugly Truth.

Terrence:

Terrence is Frank's (Frank Heffley A.K.A Dad) second cousin who has a mustache and glasses. Greg probably thinks he is ugly proved when he was explaining when Terrence was his age, he looked exactly like him, in which Greg says "Terrence looked just like me when he was my age which is actually really depressing.". Greg then mentions he better start saving up for plastic surgery.

Aunt Brenda:

One of Greg's aunts, only appearing in Dog Days when she gave Greg a birthday card saying: "A special greeting, and a "how do you do?" For a special nephew- by golly that's you!"

She might be Uncle Joe's wife. Uncle Joe's wife is shown in a picture in The Last Straw, and looks like Aunt Brenda but with a different hairstyle.

Gammie:

Greg's great-grandmother and the head of the Heffley family, only appearing in The Ugly Truth, as the main antagonist. She also has Legos that Susan bought to let her kids do something there. Gammie glued them together because of mess. Gammie is a trickster and knows a lot because of "experience". When someone in the family is about 13 years old she gives them the Talk, which is about growing up.

In the extended Do-It-Yourself Book, it is revealed in the family tree that Gammie is Susan's grandmother and Gramma's mother-in-law.

Great Aunt Reba:

Gammie forgot to give him an invitaion on Christmas, but she came anyway. She made everyone feel guilty. She only appeared in The Ugly Truth.

Benjy:

Greg's baby cousin who wears a diaper and has a unibrow. His parents are Tony and Patrica. He can read chapter books and can speak full sentences. He used to say no and shut up. He is not potty trained yet.

Uncle Gary:

Greg's uncle who has been married four times. All of his wives divorced him as soon as they found out about his financial situation and job.

Reason for divorce: Job unnappealing for her

2nd wife: Charlene
Reason for divorce: Financial miscommunication (He had 45 dollars instead of 45,000 dollars.)

3rd wife: Lydia
Reason for divorce: Unknown

4th wife: Sonja
Reason for likely divorce: He was only engaged to her by coincidence when a plane with a banner saying "MARRY ME SONJA" flew over the baseball game at which they were going to break up.

Aunt Dorothy:

She is Greg's aunt who always kisses him full on the lips. Greg's mom, Susan, says it's rude to wipe off the kisses Dorothy gives him. She is over weighed, and sometimes passes gas, much to Greg's dismay.

She appears on the "Have You Ever" page in the Do-It-Yourself Book when Greg asks "Have you ever been kissed full on the lips by a relative who's older than seventy?"

Great Uncle Arthur:

He only speaks in grunts or random sounds. He never had an actual conversation with anybody, but sometimes Greg tries to respond to him just in case he is trying to communicate. For example Once when he said "Rrup?" Greg replied "Uh no, Thank you". ' He wears glasses and a neck tie.

Rowley's family:

Mr. Jefferson

Mr. Jefferson is Rowley's father. He is shrill, angry, and is a rich architect. He is the strictest father in the book series so far. He will not let Greg or Rowley play any violent video games. Mr. Jefferson thinks Greg is a "bad influence" on his son. It is also shown that Mr. Jefferson had a close bond with Rowley when Greg writes that "Me and Dad might not have one of those close father-son relationships, but that's fine by me. I've learned there's such a thing as too close."

He shows little interest in sports until in that book, where he is found playing tennis with Rowley and golf with a caddy. Greg does not like Rowley's father, and he explains it profoundly in his journal. For example, when Greg had some complaints about the "quality of service" (such as the temperature in the sauna and about the drinks) for solving to Rowley's father, Greg is kicked out forever. Mr. Jefferson's actual profession is unknown, but Greg writes "I think he is an architect or something,". In Rodrick Rules, openly showing his rivalry with Rowley's father, Greg parodies a movie he watched with Rowley about kids making a language that adults do not understand, and makes up his own language in front of Rowley's father. Greg says in his language: "Your-pa dad-pa smells-pa like-pa a woman-pa!" Greg is then forced to go home, and Greg questions how Rowley's father cracked his code.

In Dog Days, it is revealed that Mr. Jefferson's first name is Robert.

Mrs. Jefferson:

Mrs. Jefferson is Rowley's mother. She seems to be often concerned about Rowley such as when he broke his big toe after Greg put one of his dad's dumbbells under a pillow that Rowley kept kicking at Greg's sleepover. She also had Greg apologize to her for what he did to her son. Despite this, Mrs. Jefferson always enjoys Greg's company with Rowley. Although Mrs. Jefferson loves Greg, she does not let him come over because her husband hates Greg.

In the film, Rowley's mother is played by Robert Capron's real mother, according to the movie tie-in.

Rowley's grandfather:

Rowley's grandfather only appears in Rodrick Rules, when it's his birthday and he asks for a chocolate cake for his next brithday and Greg replies "If you're even alive next year", thus stating he is really old.

In the Rodrick Rules movie, Greg's grandfather has this role instead.

Other:

Heather Hills:

Heather Hills is Holly Hills' older sister who appeared in Rodrick Rules and Dog Days. She is in Rodrick’s grade, and Greg has a crush on her. She is also alphabetically put after Rodrick. She was once Rowley's baby-sitter until Rowley's parents switched her with Leland. Apparently, she is in the same grade as Rodrick, with her yearbook picture being next to his in their sophomore year. Greg always tries to make it to Rowley's house before storytime when Heather babysits. Greg is very disappointed when Rowley's parents replaced her with Leland. In Dog Days, she works as a lifeguard at the town pool, and Greg stands by her whenever she's on duty. Greg stops this when one of the kids at the pool throws up, and Greg leaves so Heather can clean it up because he was so nauseous from his encounter with the shower guys. He says that "besides, those long-distance relationships never work anyway".

The Snellas:

The Snellas are a family that lives in the Heffleys' neighborhood, and they have a lot of children, all of whom are male and have names beginning with the letter S. Five of the children's names are revealed, and they are (from oldest to youngest): Shawn, Shane, Sam, Scott, and Seth. In The Last Straw, it is revealed that each Snella child has a half birthday party in which the adults perform funny stunts, in which no baby has laughed once, according to Greg.

Mr. Snella then sends the videos to "America's Funniest Families", a spoof and parody of America's Funniest Home Videos, and has never won anything (though due to Greg's embarrassing moment at the end of The Last Straw, they may have finally won).

It was explained in The Ugly Truth that they moved away at some point because at one of their kids' half-birthday parties, Greg was going to eat some deviled eggs at the party. But because of how revolting they were, Greg tossed them into one of the Snellas' plastic plants. Over time, the smell started to really annoy the Snella's, and since they could not trace it, they moved out. When they were moving out, Greg admitted that he felt guilty after seeing them take the plastic plant, meaning they will move out again once the smell has taken it coarse.

Scotty Douglas:

Scotty is a first grader from Rowley's karate class. In Rodrick Rules, Scotty was going to do a magic act in the Talent Show with Rowley as his assistant, but after Greg breaks Rowley's big toe, Greg has to fill in for Rowley. Greg complains about being a magician's assistant to Scotty, but Greg's mother tells Scotty's mother that Greg would be happy to replace Rowley. In the tryouts, Greg messes up the act so badly they are the only one not to make the auditions.

Scotty has a remarkably similar appearance to Greg's comic character, Creighton The Cretin, except Creighton's eyes are wide open and Scotty's eyes are beady just like all the other characters that do not wear glasses. In The Ugly Truth, he becomes the new Peachy Breeze kid, yet cannot say the slogan right.

Benny Wells:

A huge kid in Greg's wrestling class who is illustrated to have a big nose, beady eyes and can bench press 250 pounds. Greg says that he is afraid of wrestling Benny, which might refer to his writing about getting twisted into a pretzel for the whole wrestling unit.

Mr. Litch:

Mr. Litch is Greg's very tough soccer coach. He was the reason Rodrick never does sports anymore, telling him that he needs a haircut. Greg gets in trouble with Mr. Litch many times since he is lazy and rude. Greg once was going to run at him with their butts sticking out (since Mr. Litch usually told them to "get your butts over here!"), but Greg was the only one to do so, with the others hanging him out to dry. Another time, with Greg in the front and two other kids in the back, one of them honked the car at Mr. Litch and made it look like Greg did it. According to Greg, he is a type of drill sergeant who likes to yell and shout at people a lot. It is possible that his last name is a pun on "Lich" due to his angry behavior.

Bill Walter:

A 35-year old high school drop out and professional singer who has a rude attitude and Rodrick wants to be like him. In the novel Rodrick Rules, he was voted "Most Likely to Be a Rock Star" which influenced Rodrick to persuade him to join the band. Frank Heffley strongly dislikes Bill as seeing him as an inconsiderate jerk. In the live-action movie version of Rodrick Rules portrayed by Fran Kranz, he is the main antagonist as he agrees to join Rodrick's rock band Loded Diper. He enjoys pot roast and desires to have homemade dinners instead of just eating burgers, fries, and pizza as according to the film. However, during the end of the movie, it turns out he was planning to kick Rodrick out of the band until Susan had allowed him to play in the band by a bargain if Greg did a magic trick performance with Rowley. Leland Langford:

Leland Langford is Rowley's current babysitter, also living next door to him, as said in Rodrick Rules. However, in the Do-it-Yourself Book, the map of Greg's neighborhood shows that Leland lives on the street that Holly Hills lives on. (Another conflict is that it is said in The Last Straw that Holly lives on Pleasant Street. If Leland lived next to Rowley, he would be living on Surrey Street, because that is the street Rowley is said to live on in the first book.) Leland only appears inRodrick Rules, when he teaches Greg and Rowley how to play "Magick and Monsters", which is a game based on several real-life games including Dungeons & Dragons. Rodrick later tells Greg that Leland is the "biggest nerd in his school". In the "Winter Talent Show", Leland does a ventriloquist act and wins the grand prize, over Rodricks band performance, causing Greg to agree that Leland may be a huge nerd.

Dr. Kagan:

Only appearing in The Ugly Truth, he is Greg's hygienist, and is also Frank's. He does not like Greg drinking soda. Greg bit his finger which made him tell Frank he needed headgear and had to wear it all day. Greg says Dr. Kagan is scary and he is not fooling around. He has sharp metal tools and never smiles.

On page 92 of The Ugly Truth, it is revealed that Dr. Kagan's first name is Salazar.

Lenwood Heath:

Lenwood Heath is a rebellious teenager in The Last Straw and was Frank's archenemy for about three months before he was shipped to military academy. Frank met him two months later as a reformed citizen and acted as if he was an old friend.

Jordan Jury:

Jordan Jury is a popular boy in the grade above Greg who only appears in The Ugly Truth and always has blowout parties. At one point, he invited Greg and Rowley to one of his parties, but Greg could not go because of his Uncle Gary's 4th wedding. The real reason he invited the kids in Greg's grade is to use them as servants, so Greg is somewhat glad he didn't go when he finds this out.

It is hinted that Jordan is still at Greg's middle school, meaning that it also has a ninth grade since Greg is in eighth grade, but it is still possible that Jordan is in a high school next to the middle school or he got held back a lot.
